Across the Scottish Borders, the Inspire Learning programme has embraced Skriva Stylus as a intuitive edtech tool that supports improved literacy and helps make digital teaching and learning more effective and purposeful. As part of a wider digital transformation effort across local schools, the stylus has been adopted to enhance instruction, streamline processes, and support learners of all ages.

Enhancing Everyday Learning

Educators in the Scottish Borders have found the Skriva Stylus to be intuitive and easy to use, with a quick charge providing hours of classroom use and no complex setup required. Its seamless pairing with iPads allows pupils and teachers to transition smoothly into digital activities, from writing and annotating to reviewing work collaboratively. Skriva Stylus supports a range of educational apps, giving teachers the flexibility to embed it across literacy tasks and other curriculum areas.

For teachers, Skriva has also helped simplify marking and feedback. Instant access to pupil work and quick response tools have contributed to reduced workload, allowing more time for personalised teaching and targeted support. At the same time, learners benefit from clear, responsive input that helps build confidence and improve outcomes in writing.

A Partnership for Progress

The use of Skriva Stylus within the Inspire Learning framework reflects a shared commitment to purposeful technology that supports both teachers and pupils. Looking ahead, there are plans to explore even wider applications, such as creative tasks and digital art, as well as opportunities to extend stylus access based on individual school needs. Professional development is also being prioritised to ensure educators can fully harness the potential of the stylus in diverse learning contexts.

By combining ease of use, meaningful integration with educational tools, and a focus on literacy impact, the Scottish Borders Council continues to build an engaging, forward-thinking learning environment, one where every pupil can benefit from technology that supports progress and participation.
